GTA 5 in the Eyes of Morality
Posted on July 29, 2013
As a gamer, most of the people calling themselves as “expert” told me that having to play Grand Theft Auto games like the recent GTA 5 is something that is wrong and can have extremely heavy results on my personal life. I am also told by my parents consistently that I can not take something especially the things portrayed in the game and do it in the real world. Hence, responsible gamers should properly distinguish games from reality. In the GTA world, there are unique terms that are utilized to define burglary under particular scenarios. While many us individuals especially gamers know the basic idea of these terms, there are those things that needs to be cleared up and delineated from what we used to believe right.
Shoplifting is potentially the most usual kind of theft in GTA 5. It is something being displayed and being seen in courts most of the time in the game. For the most part the first kind that enters your mind when a person considers items being taken is that it is bad and wrong. Most of the scenes in this game involve situations where taking of items from a retail facility, from a department store in a shopping center to a small grocery or convenience store take place. However the sad thing is that the game does not show the repercussions of being found guilty of shoplifting which makes the expert thing that it is giving a bad impression on gamers.
Another form of mischief that the GTA 5 game has is Robbery. This is related to describe burglary accomplished with using violence, risk of physical violence, or use of other intimidation methods. It is also a common scene in the game where the protagonist is armed with deadly weapons and is out on the street to threatened other in the attempt to get something like car. One can easily say that this kind of burglary is worse the first one which is shoplifting.
Sad to say but the way experts see it, GTA 5 is nothing but wrong doings and this is what makes it unattractive from the eyes of moral experts. They always tell us that the game is nothing but burglary through physical violence, scams is typically thought about burglary with deception (though there are types of fraud that do not necessarily involve burglary). Typical kinds of fraud include identification burglary, forgery, and bait and switch schemes. When a circumstances of scams is specified by an individual or team’s gain with the appropriation of cash or various other possessions they have actually been trusted to shield, it is known as embezzlement.
Grand Theft Auto is a blanket term applied to games where fraud is accompanied by violence. Fortunately this is something that is farfetched from reality, although it is not something impossible to happen. House attack break-ins, stealing products from closed stores, or taking residential property out of a parked vehicle are all forms of burglary.
For the most part of GTA gaming series by Rockstar games, violence and theft is the concept. Well, we really can not blame them because from the title itself it is already something that denotes wrong doings present in the society. As to whether this game should be legalized, my answer is yes. It maybe violent in nature but the thing is that with appropriate guidance and regulation, this is not that bad after all.
